How do you remove a seatbelt assembly from a 2002 Toyota Tacoma X-tra Cab?
Start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and wait about 20 minutes before working near the seat belt pretensioner.
Remove the plastic covers from the upper and lower seat belt mounting points, then remove the 14 mm bolts. Next, remove the door-sill trim and carefully pull back the B-pillar trim to access the retractor. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped, remove the retractor mounting bolt, and guide the belt assembly out through the trim.
Take a few pictures before removal so the belt guides and trim go back in the correct position. Also make sure the replacement assembly matches the driver/passenger side and X-tra Cab configuration.
